Those faxes often don't have a company name nor address on them, just a 1-800 number to call them for whatever they happen to be hawking. The big one I would get is ads for Florida getaways. Since I don't know the name of the company, what I'd do is call the company pretending to be interested. I tell them that I'd like to know the name of the business before I try their services. I also ask where they are located. After given this information, I write it on the ad, copy it, and send it to my State Attorney General's office to file a complaint. It seems to work well, I even get apologies from the advertisers.
One caveat to mention is that the A.G.'s office sent me a letter saying, in effect, that they cannot be my personal attorney, etc., etc. My goal is to get some kind of legal heat on them, and make a record of it with the A.G.'s office. If they get enough complaints, they will go after those companies.
