Overall it was a great event executed by October Research in Naples, FL at the elegant Naples Grand Hotel. The crowd seemed a bit thinner than the prior year in St. Louis. Perhaps it was more the layout of the vendor tables, which appeared to be fewer and less traffic than anticipated. I was particularly interested in the technical demos since I'm in technology, and gained a few insights there. Yet, the demos could have been longer and felt a bit rushed.
Depending on what track you wanted to be on...there were concurrent speaker sessions. A lot of dialogue around fraud and protections, regulatory changes and business building. Less about AI than I expected, but very intriguing were the case studies (law suits) revolving around AI-rooted mistakes / discrimination.
There was a buzz around what title insurance looks like today, and what it may look like in the not too distant future. This was palatable. Deconstructing to reconstruct.
Although we face some significant blockers right now with mortgage rates, housing affordability, inventory... yet, there is a sense that change is in the air.
