The idea of setting standards is great. In my state of Massachusetts, the Real Estate Bar Association for which I belong. Establishes title standards requirements that Title insurance requires. www.masslaw.org
We do have to be very careful about setting any establish pricing because of the Sherman Anti-trust laws. It is best to go always with ranges not specifics on pricing. Just like commissions on real estate professionals which can range from 1% to 6% on avg in my state.
