I agree that a Association should be establish to represent our trade. I belong to the Massachusetts Paralegal Association, for which some of you may know that started out on a grassroots level. As a matter of fact so did our National association. I also am a Town Committee person on the Wareham Democratic Town Committee. Talk about being small and grassroots, but we are very active.
It is easy to say we should form a Association, but it going to take COMMITMENT, HARDWORK and CONTRIBUTIONS from all us. My suggestion is that a question be pose to all the SOT Abstract, title examiners and lawyers (we need the free advice) members to see where everyone stands.
This way we will all know what part of the country has the strength in numbers to start nationally. If not nationally, then a regionally group. The nationally one can come later. We will also know where other members stand in other states, too. It may be possible for a state group to start. Remember, the more members the more tasks can done.
I am willing to start in Massachusetts, so if other SOT members from Massachsuetts or the New England area are interested. We can gather somewhere meet, introduce, network and most of all develop a gameplan.
Just throwing it for thought!
Remember the more noise the more attention!
Stay safe and remember our armed forces always!
