I would personally feel better to see momentum by post than wonder how many are emailing, and have gotten quite a bit of personal mail saying the same. We're also a bit concernned about the rush for committment, since the last impression received was that it may be set for a different time due to the golf tournament.
Generally, an agenda is known before one is asked to commit to airfare, days of missed work, and hotel, etc. expenses.
Perhaps a better plan would be to move the date back until an itinerary is available, a conference center is secured, and other details are worked out. I do think it's important that we begin to meet; in fact, if you'll remember, I suggested it to Richard Martin and Scott Perry as a project. But it isn't fair to expect members to commit to blind plans with less than a week's notice.
I know many here have stated that they are willing to help with planning. Why not announce committees and ask for volunteers?
