I really don't foresee that being a problem, Annette, since the association we're proposing is a self-governing body. I envision some type of founding document, a "constitution", if you will, setting forth our purposes and goals, as well as the rules by which we as an association will operate.
As for the PLTA and the ALTA, they are made up of members of the land title industry, which we all know is VERY closely regulated by the state and federal governments. While we'll have to be careful not to do anything that could be construed as giving legal advise, we shouldn't have as many regulatory issues, especially since we don't actually issue the policies or perform any escrow accounting functions.
