Here are the email exchanges... Keep in mind that it is the LAW in SC that all real estate transactions are to take place with an attorney....

Before I fill out the set up pack, I need to know if you work with a South Carolina attorney. I have been told that I could get in trouble for working with companies that don't go through a SC attorney.
Thanks

We do not. All of our clients are notified prior to us completing any searches and we mark all of our SC searches "search had not been reviewed by attorney". We always make our clients aware. We do have some abstractors who provide their own attorney opinions.
I am so glad I talked with an abstractor that has been doing this for decades today. If I had accepted work from these people, I could be in major trouble and didn't know it. They are flat out lying about having "abstractors who provide attorney opinions. In SC, they call that "practicing law without a license."
I wonder how many other companies like this do the same thing.
