All over really, mostly in the mountains :-) I'll be hiking/mountain climbing in the Sierras for a week, mainly in/near the big national parks, then it's on briefly to some miscellaneous areas I've missed around foggy, windy San Fransisco, Mt. Diablo,Golden Gate Bridge area (ugh, too many tourists!) Mt.Tamalpais/Muir Woods & so forth, the coast north of San Fransisco, then I'm cutting up to the Mt. Shasta area, then back down the east side of the Sierras, might climb Mt. Whitney if I'm not too tired, then I'm wandering back home. I have a compulsion to climb mountains, can't really explain it, but that's how I spend most all of my vacations.
I was disappointed that a lot of the mountains that I used to hike in Southern California got charred by wildfires last year... in fact there was a fire near Scripps Ranch near San Diego that was just across the I-15 from where I used to live. This year is supposed to be even worse for wildfires from what I've heard, so I'm hoping for some late-season rain for all those beautiful forests out there, and then two solid weeks of sun for my visit! And I'm hoping for $1.50/gal gas...
