The purpose of the conference is organizational, so we did not invite the major title companies to this event. However, promoting the value of an experienced abstractor will be one of the main objectives of the association. How best to do that will be the responsibility of the Public Relations Committee. Through this promotion we hope we can convince our clients that there is a lot more to consider in choosing an abstractor than price.
I don't think that we will be involved in setting prices. I, for one, do not want the association dictating the prices I charge my clients. Instead, I would rather see the association promote the value of using an experienced abstractor and let me negotiate the prices as I deem necessary.
There probably won't be too much discussion on exactly how to best proceed with this promotion, but we hope to get the committee together that will work on the issue.
