I'm the guy who writes the checks, so I'm sure that was my mistake.
In the future, should we need your services again, I'd be happy to pay up front to eliminate any doubt and rebuild trust.
I promise our late payment wasn't because lack of funds or ill-intent, it's just the plain fact that I didn't have any kind of organized system for paying all my vendors until November.
I deeply apologize for us taking so long to get you paid.
