Those four are correct in the state, and now Norfolk is on too. Virginia Beach goes back to 1965 and York actually will go back to the 40's. Their indexes are ready to go on line but they are not done scanning documents in yet. My understanding is that the same computers we use in the courthouse are going to be the same indexes we access on line via a server. So it won't make any difference if we go to the courthouse or sit at home and do it, it will be the same info. It is going to be what documents we can download and view that will determine how much we need to go to the courthouse for. And of course as of right now, jd, ucc's and wills are not being scanned in my areas so they will need to work on those too. But the state supreme court system indexes are web capable already. The documents just need to be back scanned.
They have alot of work to do to get online by their deadling, and I have been told by a few clerk's that they do not plan to hire outside help to do it, they will keep it in house and have current employees doing it.
But who knows. They always change their minds.
