My Father fought in WWll, and my uncle died France one of my brothers fought in Korea, one in Vietnam. My husband and 2 of his 3 brothers served in the Vietnam war. My best friends husband who was 19 died there... the were married 3 weeks. The first guy I ever kissed went MIA and never came home. The list goes on and so does the pain because the boys who left were hardly the men who came home. Tomorrow is the first Veterans Day my husband has ever had off and I am proud to be the one to give it too him. Non of the corporations felt vets were worthy enough to be acknowledged. My family has been directly affected by 4 wars when you count WW1 and now I am living to see another. When my mother was dying last year she told me she was grateful not to have to live through another war. Guess we won't be so lucky. I personally am scrared for my son and grandsons, nieces and nephews. My daughter is a high school teacher... all her kids are poor and the first to be recruited to fight a war that means nothing except to those in power. I don't support our "troops", I support our children who were duped into believing that if they signed up they would have a better chance for an education and, for a better life. Instead they are are out there fighting a war they are truly ill equitpt for I love those children and I want them to come home safe.
Please Scott and anyone else, yeah I am a bleeding heart liberal but just let me bleed today. Lets just agree to disagree and pray or chant for those children who have been sent out to fight someone elses war. Bless this country and those of us who still really love it and what it stands for.
