In Connecticut the Town Clerk's note the date the correction is made in the index. When we run across a mistake in the index it is generally a good idea to make a copy of the index page on which the mistake appears before the correction is made and to keep it in your records of the search. It is also a good practice to note the mistake in the title abstract and that the correction of the index has been effectuated.
