 If the facts are real, I think you're right, there is a problem. When County of Town Clerks think they are going to profit and compete with examiners there is a problem. My experience here in CT is that I am often correcting the clerks mistakes, not to mention Attorneys and Title companies mistakes .I really don't feel it is the goverment place to be "selling" title searches, after all, the government is supposed to serve the people it represents. I can only imagine the claims this county will have against itself in the near future. I feel that is exactlly why our clients hire us. To make sense of the problems in the indexes, to be their laison, and to assume the liability  for our work.
