I have a diploma in Mapping and Surveying, and have done some document retreivals but that was just for individuals. I do witness only signings. I am also working on my diploma in Paralegal studies. I know you have to search with the
Tax depts. for Property address, Parcel No.#, Volume and Page, and Property address and description.
100% ownership
Then, check on land taxes whether paid or not.
Check on City taxes or water, sewer bill paid
Check current owners
mortgages,(current or satisfied) leins, judgments, (Federal tax, UCC, mechanics, etc.)
Probate
Plats for right a ways or easements
Civil for divorce, child support
Any pending cases
And, 30, 40, 50 and 60 year searches is the same thing for all.
In our records room there is a Volume of Misc. which I feel should be looked at for everything. There is agreements about all sort of things. (Before computerized)
Do you think I have a chance, or should I find another profession?
