Neither do I live in fear Scott. But I also don't expect my governent to expose myself or my family to danger. The answer is very simple, the government will cease releasing the information in bulk that they caution us to keep private.
The information that is in the public records was not in a "rough neighborhood". It was in the county courthouse. You didn't take this walk into the rough neighborhood of the Internet. Your wallet was carelessly tossed there by your local government.
All of your advice is good. But what good does it do to do a search on yourself of the public records when those records have already been sold, copied, manipulated and republished in thousands of places on the Internet. Even if you had the power to recall the record you could only recall it from the public record. Thousands of copies remain scattered all over the world. Will you go to India to demand they remove those records? Or to China, Iran and Syria?
Vigilance requires you to go to the source. They are your records. You entrusted them to your local government for safekeeping in the courthouse. Don't be afraid to go to the source and demand they keep them safely.
