I am so sorry...I got so wrapped up in the moral, I forgot to tell you what happend. Well, about an hour after Fran explained her position, this client faxed over a copy of the check, a copy of the UPS slip it was to be sent in and a written request for the searches. Fran did not budge. She held those searches until the following morning when, at about 9:30 a.m., UPS delivered the check. Furthermore, this client continues to place orders and has yet to be late on an invoice.
Again, this was a huge gamble on her part and one that very easily could have backfired. However, I suppose her position was, "hey, we either get stuck for XYZ amount now or continue to do their work and allow XYZ to grow larger and larger every day........Sometimes the most significant moves we take in business are true "gut-shots." Nothing more, nothing less......JT
