While I am not an attorney nor an expert in such matters, I do remember that during a seminar on GLB and other privacy issues, one of the lawyers who spoke informed us said that even public information, once compiled into an organized format, (such as an abstract report for a specific individual or property), becomes private, and therefore subject to the purview of privacy statutes such as GLB.
That is why we decided then and there to adopt a privacy policy regarding the information we collect. These days, one can never be too careful.
