I believe 100 percent that something has to be done. I don't think that Lisa would be in the wrong for reporting back to the company that they have searches conducting online searches instead of hands-on searches. As a safety net for herself, I suggested she develop some sort of pamphlet, or medium of any form, that merely allowed her to represent what she was providing versus what is provided by her competitors.
By calling them out, it may negatively affect the relationship she has with the competition in the future. You and I both know that you attract more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. I'd hate to see her competitors find out about her "tattling," which is how they may view it, and try to attack her performance. While I am sure that Lisa needn't worry about anyone questioning her performance, why should she place undue attention upon herself and her work?
By stating that she handles searches onsite and through the actual review of the court documents versus their online images, she may cause the company she works for to question if all it's abstractors are doing that.
Just my opinion...
