Hi Loretta,
I have looked into this. The business is "Lender Field Representative Inspections"
What it is,is this.......
Lenders contract with a "field service company"
The company then turns around and farms out the inspection work.
You go and take a picture, fill out a form and fax it back.
Some lenders will require you knock on the door to detrmine if the house is occupied.
Some will be in foreclosure and you'll need to fill out a questionairre.
All the companies paid ...get this...are you ready?...........................$5-$8 per deal. And if it's a rush, $10.
That doesn't even cover the gas .
From what I can tell, the'real"money is in doing the HUD maintenace programs. This is where you go out to the house in the winter and "winterize" it...then in the soring & summer you mow the lawn.
Those were something like $35 a piece.
There is a website at www.sofi.com
It is the national association for the field inspection companies.
Good luck and let me know if you found out otherwise, because if there is an opportunity in this field that I missed, I would like to know.
Sincerely
Mark Russomanno
