I think this may be a case where they have gotten such lousy abstracts from the "discount" abstractors that they just don't trust any of our work anymore. It used to be they would call and say something like "I'm sure your search is right, but the bank is questioning a mortgage that you didn't show, will you recheck it please." Now, after seeing so many of their "cheaper" abstractors miss things they just assume you missed it.
It is sad - things would be better all the way around if these clients just realized the value of a good, experienced abstractor and were willing to pay the few extra dollars.
