I have been in contact with another abstractor in a different state on our website and we have been discussing what to do with the one that we found in each of our counties. We faxed to each other the documents on record. Guess what? the Quitclaim Deed is formated exactly alike. My question is: Can't these guys also be charged with unauthorized practice of law? I want to go public here to keep this from happening to another person in this county, however, I am trying to decide the best route to take to cover up for this resident who just lost his property and probably does not know it yet. By my abstracting skills, I can almost profile him as an elderly, African-American gentleman, in a low income bracket in financial trouble. He has just signed his property over to Heineman and Johnson as Trustees. His mortgage is held by a not for profit organization that is set up "to relieve poverty, eliminate prejudice... through a program of financial assistance designed to improve economic conditions". And the property he owned is not in the best area of town. I feel bad for him but I don't know how to help him. He probably was preyed upon. Still thinking it through.... glad to hear that Robert has made the contact for us. I will try to contact the FBI address tomorrow. But I do want to go to the press with this so it does not happen here again. I love my county and it's residents.
