Well, it turns out there were six quit-claim deeds filed in Franklin County, and one release. The office gave me free copies to forward to Robert. I spoke with the chief deputy recorder, and he reminded me that he had shown me one of the affidavits to correct title that they had mailed in September of last year. He wanted to know if they should record it or not. I told him at the time that it looked like fraud, so he sent it to the prosecutors office for their opinion. The prosecutor told them not to accept it and their office contacted Wells Fargo, the lender who held the mortgage to see what they knew about it. The great thing was the Recorder already had all the quit-claim deeds copied and had hotkeyed the names of the trustees to avoid taking any more filings from them without the ok of the prosecutor. The release had been rejected when it was mailed in with the power of attorney, but a duplicate release had been sent to the property owner, and they managed to get it recorded as Heinemans name was not indexed, he merely signed as attorney in fact for Wells Fargo. They are now going to hotkey all six property owner names to insure that no additional filings can get by. I really appriciate the fact that our Recorder is trying to stay on top of fraudulent recordings.
