I agree with you on that however. I could see the following scenario playing out, and for arguments sake, lets says this happened in VA:
CNN: "The Va State Legislature today passed a law requiring the immediate removal of all online public records and blocking another law that would require records online by july 2006"
Lawyer for Joe Scumbag: "My clients records are public records....and they are still on the sex offenders databases...hmmmm"
Local News: The lawyer for Joe Scumbag, known serial rapist filed a lawsuit against the Va State Police regarding the posting of individuals on the Va State Sex Offenders database. He claims that the new law recently passed blocking online records in Va should extend to the Sex Offender database as well."
By the way, I am for the database. (Unfortunately I know 2 people on the database and used to be related to one of them by marriage) I was just playing devil's advocate here.
