I am going to preface my reply to this post by saying "I do not know all of the circumstances and probably should keep my nose out of it", however, because it was made public on SOT, here goes...
This is a perfect example of what I have tried very hard to fight within my own company's AND on this wonderful website, Source of Title. COMMUNICATION...if you notice, the client placed his plea on Friday, stating he needed this search "today"...(Friday)..however, at 11:40 pm. when the abstractor read the post, it was way too late!
Did the abstractor COMMUNICATE to his client that he would be out of the area for the holiday? Looks like he did not or, did but failed to deliver this search prior to leaving. Then, he states that he will call someone in the AM (today, one day late per the client) and have it "forawrd" (spelled in error on purpose to support one of my most famous threads about proofing your work. If you do not, it makes you and/or your company look somewhat unprofessional and thus, as a title company owner, makes ME wonder if they proof their searches??? - just a side though) to you on Saturday (today, again, a day late per the client).
In any event, communication is paramount to the success of individuals and/or company's in this industry and all others as well. If we, as title professionals, expect to be taken serious about our fees, service, turn times, etc., we MUST honor what we market and/or sell to our clients and at the very least, communicate with them any potential pitfalls.
This post is not meant to hurt anyone or place blame or anything else. I simply wanted to support some of my other threads with this perfect example. However, when in doubt of my words, please read my first paragraph....JT
