Chicago Title used to distribute a program to its abstractors to produce a uniform title abstract/title committment which included "macros". When the abstractor was ready to input the data from his search he typed in the information to required fields of the macro (grantor/grantee, dollar amounts, dates, volume and page). When the abstractor was done inputing the data into the required fields of the macro he hit the merge button. The program then merged the input from the macro to the stardardized form to produce a completed title abstract/committment. Not sure if macros are still used in the computer programming biz, but if not there must be something similar. You may want to have a program designed for you that is similar to the one described above.
Robert, a while back you spoke of the members of SOT producing a standard form of abstract for potential clients. Would it be possible for SOT to put a standard form on line which members of SOT could access and input? Would that accomplish what you were talking about?
