This same situation has been happening to the counties who contracted with imaging companies to digitize their documents. The imaging companies claimed they owned any images created by their software. They were exploiting some intellectual property rights laws as well as the law that gives a photographer ownership and control of the negative and provides only the print to their customer.
I'm glad your borrower information was safe but the company was busy selling off your company's most valuable asset, your vendor network and client list. This should have been your property just as the counties most valuable asset should have remained the property of the community. Has Financial Dimensions filed suit against this corporate thief or were they also exploiting laws that allowed your asset to become theirs?
