Point taken, Kevin. You being an attorney (I am not) will agree, I think, that, as in the legal world judgments are based on law, in SOT world decisions must be based upon some sort of written principle. An example, what constitutes reasonable time frame for payment of services?
What I fear most about open arbitration in this forum is that there may be few of us who are without passion one way or another in any given dispute. For example, we may be too eager to publicly defend a member who is a valued customer or whom we would like to be our customer. We may look at our own experience with a company and give it more weight than the evidence at hand.
In any case, I do believe there would need to be a previously chosen board of review who remain anonymous and that arbitration be non-public, entertainment value notwithstanding.
