Thanks Judy,
I appreciate the kind words on the newsletter. I've had very positive response on this first TXDILAR Newsletter. I've archived it on my web site. If anyone else would like to read it, they can find it here: I'm working on another newsletter to distribute to the county officials that will alert them to fraud and the dangers of publishing the county records online. I will sign you up for this one as well if you want.

The phone I use is an outdated Nokia connected to Cellular One. For the mobile office I use a Sierra AirCard connecting through T-Mobile.

I remember you saying in a previous post that you have trouble connecting through your laptop and that a connection while traveling seemed impossible. I wonder if those famous hills in your area may be the cause of the poor transmission? We don't have this problem on the flat plains of Texas but I imagine it could be a problem for those in hilly or mountanous areas.

I haven't looked at the Treo 650 but I wonder if the problem is with the hardware (phone or card) or if the conditions of your area may prevent sufficient reception for data transmission.

You might be able to get around the problem by using public hot-spots along your route. I did this until the service improved with T-mobile. Believe it or not the service I used in this rural area was provided by a chain of truck stops.
