I remember back in my early abstracting days asking a few vendor-management companies whether they carried E&O that covered my title abstracting work. Their reply was, why should we? Now almost every one of my VMCs requires that I send my E&O information every year. Should I be requiring that my VMCs send me their E&O information including the page that lists me as one of the subcontractors covered under their policy? I know the Vermont attorneys who use me as an independent real-estate paralegal are supposed to name me in their malpractice insurance policies. Do the VMCs have to list all of us?
