There was some discussion on this board last May/June about the matters of Hud, Respa Section 8 and the prices charged by third parties to the real estate transaction in question. At the time of the discussion there seemed to be a split of authority on the subject among the Federal Circuits as to the extent that Section 8 impacted on third party charges for services rendered. The issue did relate to overcharges by third party vendors.If I recall the split seems to have ocurred between the 4th and 2nd Circuits. At that time there was supposed to be a reform of RESPA. I do not know if the reform has yet been effectuated. If so, I have not had a chance to read it, but the reform may address your concerns.
