I think you expressed that very well. I wouldn't want any association I belong to, to dictate to me what I can or cannot charge, or what I have to pay for particular services. The point of NALTEA is to join together to address our common concerns and try to educate the industry as to the disastrous effects that these awful prices have on the industry (among other issues). However, not everybody is going to "get it."
The fact that a NALTEA member is the one attempting to negotiate these prices just proves the fact that, as a whole, we as abstractors are doing this to ourselves. The large vendor management companies are certainly adding to the problem, but when we accept those prices, it hurts us all and we are to blame.
