My sentiments exactly, Tammy. As a former member of NALTEA's interim Board of Directors, I can tell you that that is certainly not what we had in mind when we formed NALTEA.
I've been trying to think of ways to address that issue, but there's only so much that a professional organization can do. NALTEA can't dictate that company's fees any more than they can tell you what to charge, and I'm sure you wouldn't want them to should you decide to join.
I will tell you, though, that part of NALTEA's mission is to set forth guidelines for ethical behavior, and there certainly should be a mechanism for redress of grievances and disputes between members.
For those reasons and a host of others, I've decided to join NALTEA. (BTW, Jaybird, I'll be dropping my Membership Application and dues payment in the mail this morning). I was forced to step back for awhile due to personal concerns, and I'm now ready to roll up my sleeves and take a more proactive role in the organization.
Thanks for your comments, Tammy. You're right on the mark!
