I wasn't able to respond before you posted your reasons, but I knew the email and the wording just from reading your initial post. I received the same email last week--same price points--can't possibly be TWO cheapskates out there. I replied in a similar fashion from you including a copy of my own list of fees--I didn't hear back, not even a reply to my refusal to negotiate. Since she replied to you--I suspect she is starting to get desperate:) I am firm and do not care if I lose business--I WILL make a living, I WILL pay my abstractors a living wage, I WILL make a profit so that when gas goes up 10 cents, I don't go bankrupt.
AND as an aside, if a get a search after 3 PM and the vendor manager calls to check the status before 9 AM the next day, I WILL NOT return the call until after 12---I MUST have time to at least ARRIVE at the courthouse and begin my search before I can tell them when they can expect it. I'm sorry to all the VMs reading this, but you call---and the other one calls---and the other one calls---and everytime I get a call----hello? not working on a search, talking on the phone about when I can do a search!
