I seem to remember one of the "old-timers" in one of my rural counties mentioning something they used to call the "abstractor's bible", which was a compilation of searching guidelines that was put together by one of the local title agencies. Don't know if I'd be able to get my hands on a copy, or if such an animal even exists anymore. The locals tend to be VERY territorial in this part of the Commonwealth.
I'll ask around and see what I can find out.
