Do you really think that it is America's burden alone to fight this well orchestrated war? It would seem to me that there are other interested parties whose bacon is at risk. Where are they in this well orchestrated war? I cannot see how expanding the war into Iran is going to improve the situation. We are having a hard enough time financing Iraq and Afghanistan.
Sorry, but I grew up in the anti war protests of the 60's and 70's. You know one of those damn Woodstock survivors. The one thing that I respected from that movement is to always question authority. I see no gain to be had from unilatterally expanding the area of the fight. If the Iranians are going to shut off the oil as a weapon, then the rest of the civilized world can consider shutting off whatever it is that Iran needs with a counter embargo.
The problem is dependency on foreign oil. We need to tap the Alaskan oil field, and use the time to develop alternate fuels. CBS News recently had a feature in which Brazil claims that it will be totally free of foreign oil by the end of this year. It has developed a fuel on sugar based ethanol.
