As a wife of a former Marine, check that, a Marine I thank you for this post. Far too ofen we take for granted the sacrifices made by a few so that freedom may be had by us all. My husband has a saying, "The unwanted, led by the unqualified, doing the necessary for the ungrateful". I knew my husband had served in combat in the persian gulf in 91, Panama in 87 and other places. But, I never knew how it affected him as he never talked about it or acted as if he cared to. Today a young girl was selling "Buddy Poppy's" in front of a local strore for the local American Legion. When she found out my husband was a Vet she smiled from ear to ear and said I thank you Sir. My husband commented later today abut the little girl, and answered a quesion I had asked him once before, Why did you serve? He yold me today, that little girl was the reason, nw you know. My respect for him grew higher today, when I thought it could not get any higher than before. So Thank you for recognizing this most honorable group of men and women.
