There was a really good case out of New York that included a good deal of commentary on the necessity of proper representation in a real estate transaction. The judge was very amusing. I mentioned the case in a previous blog, "A Simple Transaction."
As a title agent, I would welcome attorneys at the closings. It would take some of the pressure off of me, since I am not allowed to give legal advice, and it would definitely ensure that the borrowers' interests are served.
