The question remains....do you want to be one of them, and have to pay the penalty?

Unfortunately our form of government is very similar to a corporation. I have often wondered if that is the reason that our head of state is titled president. I remember reading how the founding fathers were trying to decide on a title for our head of state after the Revolution and adoption of our Constitution. George Washington wanted to be known as "His Mightiness". Fortunately John Adams' suggestion of  "Mr. President" was adopted.

However, like shareholders in a corporation citizens really have little power to effectuate change until they vote. Just as shareholders in a corporation own the corporation, they have nothing to say about the day to day management of the corporation. These functions are left to the board of directors to formulate policy, and then assigned to the corporate officers to carry out and implement the policy. Shareholders can only vote the directors in and out of office at the end of their terms or vote to remove them from office in extreme circumstances.  So also are the citizens of our country in a similar circumstance.to post a reply: login - or - register
