I think every abstractor has seen this at one time or another.  Some of the "old-timers" tell me that it's been circulating in one form or another since the 50's.  One version says the search was done by a lawyer helping a friend rebuild his house after Hurricane Katrina.  Embellishments notwithstanding, it wouldn't surprise me if the original story were true.
