I rec'd the same fee reduction notice. I replied to the e-mail by stating simply that my company would not agree to their arbitrary fee reduction.
I reduced fees one time for one big client. Once I bent for that client, they came at me again and again and again asking me to reduce fees here and negotiate fees there, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, until I was doing 30 year searches in counties that were 3 hours away for $75. They asked me one too many times (and on a bad hair day no less) to reduce my fees or lose their business, to which I replied "it's been nice working with you." No big loss - by that time I was losing money doing their work.
Moral is (and someone else in this forum said this before me - I just like to repeat it whenever possible) - IF YOU BEND OVER ONCE, YOU MIGHT AS WELL STAY BENT OVER.
