Okay, okay, maybe I was a little harsh with my words there. I am humbled by your input. I didn't mean to insinuate that you could find bankruptcy information in your individual counties. That is not the case in Iowa either. Bankruptcies are in fact reported at the Federal court level. And all of my clients know that I do not check for bankruptcies unless they specifically ask me to do so.
BUT, if a client asks me to do so, I know where to go to find that information. I consider it a resource that I use in my profession when requested, AND, if a client stiffs me on payment, knowing where to go to look for a bankruptcy filing before I file suit against them keeps the egg off my face. So I consider it a personal resource as well.
Most of the federal courts are online and bankruptcy information is available through the Pacer service for an extremely minimal fee (I think it is currently 8 cents for each page of results) and it is well worth the cost. Since this forum is really about sharing information, here is a link to this informative website

Have a good evening all.
