Yep, I did have a good laugh after I got over my outrage. They had sent a previous contract that I did fill out and sign but I replaced the SSN with my EID number.
But this does bring up something that many may want to think about. Our clients need our SSN's or EIN when we do work for them but they really don't need it before. Consider all the applications from foreign companies (often pretending to be US-based) that require your SSN as a pre-condition to orders. You never know who is on the other end of that or how your SSN may be used once it is in the hands of their employees.
