I agree with Kevin that an effort must be made to lenders, recorders and underwriters (that, however, may be a lost cause since they are the ones pushing for this and have been for years) of the dangers of outsourcing to third world counties. I have spoken to every recorder I can in the States of MN and WI about the outsourcing of abstracting work. They too are disgusted with this trend for what it will eventually mean to their own record rooms. They are also disgusted with receiving phone calls from people, who barely have command of the language, asking questions pertaining to recording information on documents. The MN Recorders are having their annual meeting in January and all have assured me that this topic will be discussed. I am only 1 person, but hopefully these recorders will see the importance of keeping abstracting "at home" for all persons involved in title.
