In the Roanoke, VA area, I hear that abstractors have protested on-line and the court clerks are listening, even though the Supreme Court of Virginia ordered all courts on line last year.  For all our on-line subscriptions, we have to fill out applications and be approved by the Clerk before we are allowed access to on-line information.  This is some form of security.
