Hey Scott,
Nice to meet you. Thanks for the question...
First, we do not send a "first order" to anyone without contacting them first. We are simply entering company info into our system for counties that we are currently marketing or are looking for a better vendor. If a "first order" comes in, we do contact the vendor before sending the order.
However, I find it a strange question to ask as to whether or not it is "a bit presumptuous" to think that a company on source of title was looking for more work. The fact is that yes, as a business owner, I do presume that any company is always looking for more work. We have a sales team for that reason - we ourselves are always looking for work. If your company is not looking for more work, consider yourself one of the very very lucky few. In over a decade in the business, we have yet to have any company ever turn down work. Even through the boom, the turn time might have been different/longer, but no company has ever turned down our work in a county that they service. Furthermore, in over a decade in the industry, we at Grand Info have never turned down an order from a client in a county that we service. During the boom, we may have been upfront and honest about the expected prolonged turn time, but we have never turned down work from a paying client. It is bizarre for me to even contemplate the idea.
Lastly, we have received work "out of the blue" from many clients over the years due to source of title. I love this site for that reason. Every time it happens, we do not get irritated or think it presumptuous. In fact, we celebrate! We celebrate every new client we ever get. How wonderful it is everytime someone sends a "first order" "out of the blue" and tells me it is because they saw our info on source of title!
Scott, we hope to do business with you as well whether we are the giver or receiver. That is something that I cannot presume, but I can hope for.
