Yeah, hydrogen does seem to be an interesting alternative. I also like the electric hybrids. I just completed a closing last month with a woman that owns one. She gets 50 miles to the gallon.
Your comments concerning corn based ethanol are primarily why Brazil chose to pursue sugar based ethanol. They have been developing it since the 70's. Their objective was to become independent of foreign oil last year. It is my understanding that it has met with some degree of success. I have heard that Brazil enacted law rquiring cars imported into Brazil to be equipped to run on sugar based ethanol. I am not sure if they run on pure ethanol or a mix of ethanol and fossil fuel.
