Glenda: I did check out the site and am making plans to attend it on June 21st- it is 57 miles for me- not a bad trip- and they have a quilting show in October- My Mother-in-law is a quilter and I have taken her to other shows up in Va before- I might drag her down there to take a look- she doesn't buy them, just gets ideas from others and makes her own- they are a family treasure all of us enjoy when she makes one for us.
Thanks for the info on Bell Buckle, Tn- some of the odd names that occur through out this country- but there is an explanation for most, just we don't get to know that when we first experience the name-when I first was sent to Northern Virginia to run a retail store(Radio Shack) it was located on "Backlick Road" , now, I certainly was wondering how or why someone would name a road that name- until I was informed that a "lick" is a small stream (kind of like creek up north), so after that explanation, I was informed of the derivation of the name and understood it- I remember a comedian used "Snook"and "Snake Navel" Texas in a routine he did about locating someplace on a road- as in "right after the sign for "Snook" take the next dirt road" I looked the names up on my map and "Snook" was listed but not the other- he might have been embellishing the routine a bit too
That's all for now, Steve
