Bill,
Do you do title searches for a living?
The reason I ask is because if you do, you should be aware of the fact that alot of companies out there, are out sourcing their work to India and the Philipines and taking work away from Americans who have been doing title searches for many a year.
I am pretty lucky and am not worried about New Jersey and New York counties that I cover going on line any time soon, however I know this is a HUGE concern in our industry, and I believe you won't get a whole lot of support on your "project".
I for one am of the opinion that a search should be done in the county where all the records are available to view. I personally do not trust on line searches.
Just as mistakes can be made by government employees at the county, mistakes can be made imaging and indexing on line as well, especially if it is being done by outside companies (which I believe is the case) who have no experience in the title industry, And at least when you are doing a search in the county and find a mistake it can be straightened out immediately.
