My personal solution would be to eliminate public records: marriage becomes part and parcel of a religious registry (like in Israel to this day), deeds become things kept in safety deposit boxes like in old England, mortgages become signed 2-party papers enforced in courts...
How much thought have you put into this "solution?" Public records PROTECT the public. How could any lender ever be ensured of having a valid lien on property? How would YOU ever be protected from someone selling your property out from under you? And, if there are multiple liens on a parcel, how would any of the creditors establish their priority? Are they just supposed to take your word? Without public records, homeownership would be a myth. There wouldn't be any lenders and only the wealthy could buy homes... but why would they want to when they have no way to protect their interest.
By establishing a public record of ownership - YOU are protected because everyone knows you own the property. If someone else tries to sell it or mortgage it, it would be invalid because anyone dealing with a fraudster would have constructive notice of your ownership. There has to be public notice to third parties to create a market for real estate.
That is just about the most absurd thing I have heard.
Best,
